Fort Boise Park & Skate Park

Location: 600 W. Garrison St.

History

Fort Boise Park was acquired in 1950 from the federal government after the Defense Department has declared it surplus. It was originally 40.37 acres, but in 1956, several acres were traded to the Idaho Elks organization in exchange for a site of approximate the same size off of State Street. The site is currently about 33 acres in size.

Amenities: Baseball fields, tennis courts and skate park

Tennis

Fort Boise Park has six lighted tennis courts. These courts were renovated by Boise Parks & Recreation in Summer 2005. The cost for lighting is $3.00 per hour. One court must be open for public use at all times. Tennis courts may be reserved by contacting:

Softball & Baseball Fields

Fort Boise Park has 3 softball fields.

2 Regulation lighted softball diamonds with dirt infields

1 Regulation lighted softball diamond with dirt infield (Boise High School Girls Fast Pitch League Use Only)

Boise Parks & Recreation Department also has softball leagues.

Jack Acree Legion Field is a regulation lighted baseball diamond with dirt infield (used for Boise High School Baseball League Only)

Skate Park

The Skate Park is located in the north west corner of the park. It is a below ground, cement skate park with transition walls varying in height from 3 feet to 6 feet.
