Create for Our Children
 From a Smile Falls a Laugh:
A cookie-dough creature, a giraffe who stops in for lunch, a refrigerator with singing milk and pie-making candles are just a few of the many imaginative and original characters you will come to love in From a Smile Falls a Laugh. The book is a stunning 64-page, full color, 10” x 10”, hard-bound children’s poetry book. Each poem in the book has been written by Sun Valley’s own, Whit Albright, whose amazing creativity and humor are sure to capture the imagination of children and adults alike.
In addition to the wonderful poems, From a Smile Falls a Laugh is filled with beautiful illustrations provided by the art students of Mountain View High School, Idaho’s largest public high school. All of the illustrations were created specifically for this project and then submitted to Create for Our Children competition-style. With hundreds of incredible illustrations to choose from, the final pages of the book are positively stunning!
The proceeds from the first edition of From a Smile Falls a Laugh will be given to the Mapalo orphanage in northern Zambia to pay for a year of operating costs. The Mapalo orphanage provides food, water, shelter, medicine, education and general care for more than 300 innocent orphans who have been left behind by the devastation of disease and poverty in Zambia. In addition to monetary support, From a Smile Falls a Laugh will dedicate a page in the book to the story of the orphans of Zambia, with the hope of raising the awareness and personal consciousness in each individual who reads the book.
Create for Our Children
Each project developed by Create for Our Children will be dedicated to a specific group of children. Our goal is to deliver a well-researched and reported story with each project’s product, and sell the product with the profits going to the specific group. By including the story of these children in every product, we can be assured their story is heard, with the hope that it will never be forgotten. We will also share our final products with the children themselves so they can share in the joy of the gracious and generous acts of kindness done in their name. Create for Our Children believes that by joining awareness and appropriation, we can provide immediate support, and create a lasting commitment to bring about real peace and change for the children of our world.
