Northend Projects Home
The Northend is full of opportunities to make a difference. The links on the left will guide you to various projects we are either aware of or have adopted in the best interest of the neighborhood and community.
Northenders are committed to creating a sense of community throughout our neighborhood and beyond. Projects that we are highlighting here are just a few of the many projects we think you will find interesting. Among the ideas we have seen kicked around include:
- Hyde Park lampost, decoration, bike rack and amenities updates and work on infrastructure including public trash receptacles and a neighborhood recycling center.
- Extending the Hyde Park street design and motif from 15th to 12th along Eastman Street. This will not only unify the area but will allow for updates to the streetscape to support the TRIca Immanuel M.E. Church project.
- Work on Hill Road between 15th Street and the turn into 13th Street to increase pedestrian and cyclist access and safety.
- Work on the area at the end of North 9th Street to improve the parking area to help protect the neighbors who live there and control erosion.
- Build a registry of historic places in the Northend. Northend.org plans to accommodate this project and make it available online.
- Purchase, move and restore Bob Greenwood's original "ski haus"....
Remember, only NENA can apply for Neighborhood Improvement Grants from the City of Boise. Contact NENA and let them know what is important to you!!
