Business is Tough for the Independents
As the price of fossil fuel skyrockets and personal income drops,
consumers are forced to make choices. WalMart reports positive
profits while locally-owned independent restaurants
and retailers are being hurt.
What's the difference? It is clear the choices
you make during these "down" times will make a huge difference in what
our community
looks like on the "other side". Businesses
that are committed to quality, environment, sustainability and
our local economy must not be allowed to fail! Kandor,
Louie's, Learning Express and dozens of others have gone away and we
need to support those that remain. Thanks!

Hollywood Market, Margaret & Karma
Ok, so she hasn't exactly been on the right side of many of our political
and social issues, but she and the store are Northend institutions.
Many Northenders still would don't want her to go out
of business.
So what do you want to do? Several people
want to circulate a petition to see if it will help her get a reprieve.
Email me and to let me know what you think...... dave@northend.org.
